Interview With a Network Marketing Master

Christopher Terry. By day, stocks trader. By night, network marketing genius. Because of his second “night” job, Terry will be resigning from his primary day job. The really amazing part of that is he will have done this within 5 short months of joining his network marketing company.

Within the network marketing company itself, Terry is a leader and a mentor. He does not abandon his downline members. He keeps us informed of company events and policies on an almost daily basis. He lets us know he is here to support us; as long as we are willing to do the work, he will do anything within his power to help us succeed. He is a network marketer’s dream upline sponsor.

How did he do it? What is his secret? I sat down with him to find out and share with you his ideas for success.

Denise: Thank you for granting me this interview, Chris.

Christopher: Thank you, Denise!

D: How long have you been working at your career as a stocks trader?

C: I have been a Stock and Futures trader since the mid 1990’s. I owned a construction business prior to that. I wanted to be able work and make money from home. Although I started trading in 1995, it was not until 1998 when I was able to walk away from my construction business and trade full time.

D: How successful were you at doing that?

C: I have done very well. I find it fascinating that I can create wealth from home. I love the fact that a person can take a relatively small amount of money and create a growing stream of income; however, it’s all based on your own efforts. For example, in my business if I don’t trade, I do not earn income. Also, trading takes years of dedication, time and effort to become successful; in other words, there is no such thing as an overnight success.

D: I understand you became a leader and motivational speaker in your industry. Share with me how you rose to that level.

C: I was actually in Amway for several years in the 1990s. I was fortunate to hit levels of success here in the United States in that company. I then went overseas as Amway opened up new markets, which gave me the opportunity to have an international business. I owe my “positive thinking” to that network marketing experience, since the leaders in Amway always recommended we read positive thinking books and listen to positive thinking tapes. At the time many considered it “brain washing.” Today it is called “Laws of Attraction.” So, l was into positive thinking and Laws of Attraction before it was a cool thing to do. That time period in my life gave me the foundation to grow both mentally and financially. I started a business outside of Amway, and then I went into the trading business.

D: What qualities do you see within you that helped you achieve success in your trading career?

C: I would have to say vision and foresight. I look at the future of what things can be, not as they are, and then I take action. I have always taken action, I am not afraid of whether that action turns out right or wrong. The worst thing to do is to have an idea and a plan but never actually do anything to put that plan into action. It is better to do something and fail than to never have done anything at all. I have always had a drive for success once I realized I have the power and the ability to become whomever and whatever I want. There is a four-letter word to success, and its spelled W-O-R-K; the reality is anything worthwhile takes work, trading and network marketing included!

D: Do you think those same qualities helped you build your network marketing business?

C: Those, and also reading positive thinking books and books on success, as well as overcoming my fear to speak to people. I was very shy growing up, so I learned to say “Hi” and start a conversation, to truly become interested in other people and what they had to say. I also am not afraid to work; if I had to dig ditches for a living, I would be the best ditch digger I could possibly be. I believe once you get your mindset right and you learn to ask the right questions, the game is 90% won, and success will be yours.

D: Tell me how you got involved in network marketing.

C: Interesting story! I was dating a girl and she was bragging about how her boss was making $5,000 a month in some business and that I should talk to him, so I did. He signed me up, and then my girlfriend, the very one who told me to speak to him, wanted me to quit because it was Amway! I told my sponsor that I had some problems and I had to quit. He told me, “Get rid of the problems.” So, I broke up with my girlfriend and built Amway, and as you already know, I became very successful in that business!

D: Were you familiar with network marketing before that?

C: No, I was not.

D: What were your thoughts and, perhaps, preconceived notions, about network marketing in general, prior to joining your first network marketing company?

C: I had no idea what it was, all I knew was I had to bring people in the business with me, sell some products and I would get rich. Unfortunately, though, it does not work that way!

D: Could you elaborate on that idea? Most of us are brought into this industry with that same notion, and we all eventually experience the same rude awakening that you just described, that it is not as easy as they make it sound. So please, for the people reading this who are not yet in network marketing and are considering it, as well as for those who have started and perhaps are failing, explain what you mean.

C: Well, of course you do not just get in and get rich, this is the most common misconception about network marketing. There are people who enter the business and think everybody they know will get in with them. Then there are people who come in saying they have this “one guy that if he gets in, he will make us all rich, he knows everybody!” and it is the furthest thing from the truth. This business is a numbers game. To be successful, you must expose people to the business every single day, to be consistently meeting new people and telling others about our dynamic opportunity. The more people you come in contact with, the more likely you will find people who want to become a part of your team and earn an income with you. This is true from day one; even though you may have a list of 100 or 500 people that you know, you still want to always be in the creative mode and working what I like to call the ABC’s – Always Be Contacting. You do not know where the next million dollar earner will come from.

The hardest thing for me is I cannot take the feelings inside my heart and mind that motivate me and give them to someone else, although I wish I could. The truth is, everybody has to find their own will, desire, and hunger to succeed; without them, they will end up like the rest, having some success, but not truly creating wealth. We all know or have heard the hard, cold fact that 98% of the people in this great country are broke and do not have a backup plan; if they lose their job or business, they will be 90-120 days away from poverty. People can blame it on the government, but the responsibility ultimately falls on each one of us. We should be proactive when we do not actually need to be and start our own home based businesses, which will get us out of that 98% and into the 2% income earners.

One final thought on this topic: I think the reason most people fail in the network marketing industry is that they treat it like a job and not like their own business. When you act as if it is just another job, you do the least amount of work possible for whatever pay you can get. These people want to work very few hours and get rich right away. Unfortunately, this does not happen in network marketing. Those who invest their time and effort into growing the business, even if there is no income at first, can see the vision of the future. At the beginning they will work 20 hours a day for zero pay, because they see that putting in 20 hours will pay the equivalent of 2,000 hours’ worth of work one day, and eventually zero hours will pay 10,000 hours. Fortunately, in our business the compensation for our work is amazing, but if you do not expand with people, you will not take advantage of the true income potential of network marketing.

D: Thorough and well said. I would like to add that when you said one should always be in the creative mode, in addition to working the ABC’s, I think the creativity part should apply to marketing your business. Be creative in your marketing efforts. Think outside of the box and create many different marketing campaigns. Utilize technology and the internet. The more you put yourself out there, the more you achieve exactly what you are saying, Chris, which is maximum exposure of the business to as many people as possible so you can increase your odds of signing up significant numbers new members into your downline. I do this on a daily basis myself, and I also make it a point to talk to people every day to make new contacts, as you have recommended.

Getting back to my questions, what were your first thoughts when you were introduced to the specific business we are in together?

C: I was actively looking for an online business to get into. I was not looking for network marketing/multi-level marketing, I was searching for an online business that was cutting edge and in which I could earn a residual income. When I saw this business it was in a cutting edge industry, doing business in 170 countries, it offered a strong income opportunity without having to sponsor people, yet by sponsoring people, it offered the ability to create wealth and long term residual income. They say to be successful you need a product that people want, need and can afford, that will be used over and over and is desired in the market place. I found it!

D: As we already know, this is not the only network marketing business you have ever been involved in. Were there any others besides Amway and ours?

C: I looked at a few others along the way, but I did not join any.

D: Why not?

C: Well, I am a high income earner in the trading world, both as a trader and an educator. I have been doing this for 17 years, and nothing really struck me as good enough for me to give it my full attention. I have seen MANY companies, products and services. When I saw the opportunity in the industry you and I are in together, I saw an industry that was young, dynamic, and that people loved. It has a place in the market because it meets people’s desires to find a bargain and/or make a deal. Also, it is VERY profitable, so I wanted to be a part of it. I got in first, and then I learned about it as I grew with it. I have not looked back. I have built an incredible team that’s growing in leaps and bounds. You are a part of that team, Denise, an amazing student and downline member.

D: Thank you, Chris! How do the other network marketing companies you’ve analyzed compare to the one you and I are in together?

C: They cannot compare.

D: Besides what you have already stated about our company when you actually found it, what made you think that this was the company to join?

C: I have no products to carry around, no juices or vitamins to purchase or sell, I did not have to sneak up on my family and friends, and I do not have to sell expensive products that I can buy in the store cheaper. We get paid to advertise. Period.

D: Now, I would like to share with our reading audience your own personal tips for network marketing success. Please tell me, what works for you?

C: Relationships are everything; your network is your net worth. I am always in the creative process and always opening doors to new people, saying hello and breaking the ice to get a conversation going. In network marketing, our job is to leverage time and money; without people on your team it becomes impossible. I would suggest genuinely becoming interested in others, going to events, whether it is a show or a business event, or any gathering where good quality people who you may want to work with will attend. I also suggest speaking to people who you would not normally speak to and might even make you feel a little uncomfortable; those are often your best prospects. We tend to feel heroic because we got the number of the drive-through window guy at Mc Donalds; meanwhile, we get false impressions of success when we see somebody dressed in a nice suit and tie and just assume they are already successful, so we say nothing to them because we think they’ve got it all already and don’t need a change in their lives. Both of these people may be your best prospect, or your worst, but you will never know unless you open up the door and say something to break the ice. With the “successful business man” (or so we assume) who we are often afraid to approach, you can start with something as simple as, “Hey, nice tie, where did you get it?” Then see where the conversation leads.

D: Is there anything that you’ve done that didn’t work so well?

C: Yes. As I’ve mentioned before, it takes years to become an “overnight success.” I have made, will make, and will continue to make mistakes. It is okay to fail; the more you fail the closer you will get to winning. Becoming immune to failing is the key to success. You may wonder why I say this. Well, if you have somebody who is not used to failing and thinks failing is bad, then when he/she hears “No” enough times, it damages his/her confidence, and that person is afraid to keep trying. However, if you are not afraid to fail, you will not let those “No’s” stop you. Instead, you will become more motivated to find the people who will say “YES” to your opportunity or presentation. Become a failure to become a success. This goes for ANY business!

D: What is the ONE business building idea you can share that you think is the MAIN reason you are where you are today, about to retire from trading, and about to embark on some major journeys in life, both literally and figuratively?

C: First, let me clarify something very important. The word “retire” is loosely used in the network marketing industry. I have been trading for 17 years and it is time for me to take a break. Do I think I will stay out of it for long period of time? No, it has always has been and will always be a passion of mine. I have built my name and reputation as a trader and educator, so I will most definitely return to the industry; however, I welcome a break in the action right now.

I love to help and give to others, so this is my current mission. There is nothing better than creating a profit in network marketing and helping others create wealth in the same fashion. Then, bringing my profession back into the mix, profiting on those profits as a trader too is a home run! However, I really do have the freedom to either work or not work; that is how large the income that I have created in our network marketing business is already. The MAIN reason I am where I am today is I will do whatever it takes; I will work 100 hours in a 24 hour day until I make it. As I said earlier, the main ingredient for me is that four-letter curse word, W O R K… and I have a LOW “IQ” (“I QUIT”) level!

D: Lastly, you are extremely jazzed about the network marketing company we are in together. What are the defining qualities of this company that makes it so good? Based on that, what should people look for in their own network marketing company or when deciding to actually join one?

C: Well, it seems lately I am sleeping no more than 3 hours per night! The energy of the team, of the company, and of the industry has taken the world by storm, and this keeps me “jazzed” as you say! I believe I had already mentioned earlier the reasons why I like our company, because there are no products to lug around and there is no trying to sell to friends and family a product or service they do not want. I have been approached by other network marketing companies that involve selling legal insurance, utility companies, juice companies, vitamin companies, weight loss companies, you name it! I have found that ours is so simple; our work is to advertise and it takes no more than two minutes per day. I am from the Amway world. I got my PhD in network marketing. In my opinion, the most ideal situation is the one that does not require a person to sponsor people to become successful, yet offers the opportunity to earn larger income because you do sponsor, train, and motivate others, and once you help them earn income, you earn additional bonuses. I come from a world where, when you help enough people get what you want, you in turn will get what you want. Everybody has their own version of what is best for them. Some may like a particular industry. My advice? Do your due diligence, figure out what you are passionate about, and run with it. That’s all.

I want to thank Mr. Terry for taking the time to answer these questions so thoughtfully and thoroughly.

On a side note, Christopher Terry is one of the most benevolent and philanthropic men I’ve ever met, and he does it without creating great publicity or accolades for his generosity. He believes very strongly in the idea that “it is in giving that you shall receive.” I am honored to know him and very glad we have gone into business together.

Network Marketing in an Internet World

n a fast changing world and difficult economic scenarios, it is but normal that individuals will turn towards innovation, fortitude and creativity in order to ramp up or bolster their earnings. The time for that though, as we all know, is past. No longer can individuals supplement earnings by taking on extra work. With the labor markets, worldwide, in depression, millions of people have to find themselves a primary source of income in order to meet the most basic expenses. And data coming out of nations around the world (at one time heralded as economic juggernauts that would help drive the world past the banking crisis) shows that even India and China are beginning to reel under the impacts of European and USA economic issues.

So the outlook isn’t rosy, but that doesn’t mean the end of the world or a shutdown of economic activity. It does however; necessitate a need to look at avenues of income generation from a fresh perspective. And this article intends to discuss a specific route of employment and income creation, its associated pitfalls, the overwhelming misinformation about the work genre, the competitive advantages the industry enjoys and how the Internet is helping push revenues up higher than ever before. Welcome to the world of Network Marketing in the Internet Era.

Network Marketing – An intro

Network Marketing, also called Referral Marketing or MLM (Multilevel Marketing) is a business model where employees are hired as marketers for a business or product, and are rewarded on both, the sales they generate, as well as the sales invoiced by the staff they subsequently hire. Essentially each member has to sell products as well as recruit new sales people in order to reach the highest earning potential. (For this article, MLM and Network Marketing will be used interchangeably)

So for example you sell home insurance for AIG (just an example), and you process 3 policies successfully, you get a share/commission of the sale value.

Now, you can hire more staff to help you sell these policies, and when they do, you get a percentage of the total policy value sold by the people You hire as a reward for increasing the sales force and generating revenues for the firm. In marketing speak, your recruits will be referred to as Your down line, that is to say this stream of income was started by you, making you eligible for higher benefits.

Some people confuse MLM and direct selling. While it is true that MLM or network marketing is heavily reliant on customer referrals, word of mouth promotions and direct selling techniques, MLM is just one form of direct selling.

Network Marketing Criticism

MLM or network marketing has come under the scanner for practices that opponents say are unethical, designed to serve a handful of people, and can rupture personal relationships, but they continue to thrive. In fact some of the world’s most successful firms including Avon and Amway are examples of how well MLM can work for representatives and the parent entity. The issue though, is that many critics vehemently argue that Amway is the best example of Pyramid Marketing schemes that serve the interest of the parent firm and not its representatives.

And here’s the issue. People tend to conflate Pyramid Schemes with Network Marketing which, widespread as it is, is also misleading. Pyramid Schemes stand out from MLM or Network Marketing in that they tend to require entry fees and promise exaggerated returns without any grounding in fact or performance records.

Therein lies the rub. Network Marketing has been used as a convenient label for firms who have been known to indulge in Pyramid Schemes thereby devaluing what is, a legitimate marketing strategy and business model.

Independent Investigations and Findings

This is what the Federal Trade Commission of the USA delved into when it investigated Amway in 1979 for Pyramid practices.

However, court rulings and governmental investigations into MLM have firmly established that Amway is not a ‘pyramid’ scheme. The Federal Trade Commission’s (USA) ruling In the Matter of Amway Corporation, Inc., et al.) in 1979, concerning the business practices of the firm explicitly stated that Amway was not an illegal pyramid scheme.

The rulings reinforced what many marketers propagated for years. Marketing strategies come in all shapes and sizes, and the misuse of a practice does not make it illegal or unethical.

Think of it like this. Internet Marketing is a growing practice for firms and individuals across the world. And we all know the impact spam has had on our virtual existence. Unsolicited, mass communiqués that people dispose of before they even look at them. Usually sent by ‘bots’ or computer programs that flood email addresses, forums and comment posts, it has become the bane of Internet Marketers. Can you say that ‘bots’ are the standard tools of practice for all internet marketing?

No. Because it’s a few individuals who are using underhand techniques, and who do not have the necessary expertise in Internet marketing causing the issue. Not the practice or functional area itself. The same applies to MLM or Network Marketing. The tarring of a whole industry with the same brush due to some unethical practitioners and extremely vocal opponents despite it enjoying significant advantages is frequently overlooked in the den of criticism.

Strategic Advantage of MLM

Now that this article has discussed the potential issues and the criticisms of the Network Marketing professionals, it is prudent and in the interests of fairness that the unique advantages that MLM enjoys be looked at.

The biggest advantage that MLM brings to prospective practitioners is the availability of a rather large mentoring team. These individuals have had experience in the practices that yield results, how to nurture client relationships and be consistent with efforts to drive achievements.

With firms like Amway and Avon, the huge expenses of advertising are nullified for distributors and marketers, helping them enter a market with almost no overheads and investment costs.

The established reputations and credentials of firms like Amway and Avon also help the Marketer in gaining authority with their prospective clients, negating the need for years of carefully cultivated marketing messages and demonstrated product excellence that a startup/newcomer would need.

And perhaps the biggest advantage is Brand Recall. Individuals from the American East Coast, to the towns of India and the shires of Australia, immediately understand who Amway or Avon are. Demonstrated quality and products which are complemented by excellent MLM strategies. However, the Internet has opened up larger potential for Amway, Avon and MLM professionals.

Network Marketing in the Internet Age

With the internet opening up markets internationally, and borders becoming as irrelevant as VHS tapes thanks to Skype and Email, it is fairly sensible for marketers to move their model onto this much larger canvass, thereby triggering potential windfalls for their firms and employees.

Distributors utilize Internet Network Marketing strategies to build networks online and use them to spread their reach across a larger consumer and employee base. The crux of the strategy, as with offline initiatives, it to prospect potential distributors and representatives, and there are 3 ways in which firms approach their online presence.

• Internet Communication Prospecting
So let’s suppose you are a MLM professional and you manage to source some leads for your products. Traditionally you would call them and try to setup an appointment so you can then present your product and idea to the client.

With the internet, the same thing applies. Except now you aren’t limited to the people you meet offline. You can search through groups, forums and chat rooms for specific members who match your target market, introduce yourself and then send them an email outlining your firm, its advantages and how they stand to gain from developing an association with you. And with Skype, you aren’t limited to chat conversations, but a video conference, and a global reach.

• Internet Attraction Marketing
Internet Attraction Marketing is a strategy that uses the online presence of a firm to bolster its attraction to potential clients. This strategy is in no form or manner one that’s exclusive to MLM or Network Marketing. One of the most prominent uses of this tactic is the ‘learn how I made $1000 in a day’ advertisements that you see everywhere on the web.

And it’s used by bloggers, by e-vendors, by public speakers and all sorts of businesses that are moving their product and services onto the virtual environment. By giving out free material, so let’s say, a brochure advertising the exact steps you took to succeed at MLM, you can reach out to a large audience and all they need to do is sign up for your newsletter or ‘webinar’ (a seminar you can hold online using basic communication software) where you can then convince them to join your MLM business.

• Internet Advertising Prospecting
While prospecting for clients is one of the challenges of MLM, there is no reason that you cannot make the prospects come to you. Unlike offline prospecting, in the online world you can choose your advertising methods, budgets and placement far more carefully.

A MLM firm can purchase banner ads or use pay per click advertising where the audience clicks on an advertisement and are directed to your home page where you can then explain the product and its benefits in greater detail.

It also scores over conventional prospecting by drastically slashing your commuting and travel expenses since you can effectively cater to a larger segment online so long as you have a good grasp on the Internet, Search Engines and Online Marketing.

Conclusion

Network Marketing has, traditionally, been an extremely competitive marketplace like many other professions. The issue though is the fact that extremely low entry costs make it an attractive proposition for numerous people. This can lead to what people call ‘market saturation’ i.e. supply far outstrips demand. This is, unfortunately, misleading.

And here’s why. Low costs do mean higher people get on board, but a lot of people, paradoxically, don’t invest the time and effort required to grow ANY business since they have almost literally ‘nothing to lose’. This means a fair few prospective MLM professionals drop out very early and don’t pay enough attention to strategy and marketing initiatives, relying on luck or some other manner of good fortune to bestow them with the success that their ‘up line’ associates may have gathered.

Such individual shortcomings cannot, and indeed, should not be used to malign MLM/Network Marketing professionals who use legitimate means to promote legal products to consumers. And this is evident from the success of Amway, not just as a firm, but as a defendant in the 1979 ruling by the FTC (USA).

Access to mentors, a large network and low costs make MLM a great professional choice, as well as a brilliant way for individuals to generate income in a struggling global economic environment.

And with the advent of the Internet, professional marketers can utilize outreach strategies that outstrip traditional methods by huge leaps and bounds. Cutting across cultures, boundaries and demographics, the Internet can be utilized to sift through potentials and leads by allowing the audience to connect with you, which translates into higher interest, and therefore, a much more likely sale for Network Marketers.

It’s fair to say, and indeed this article has pointed it out, that MLM has become the boogie man of Modern Marketing techniques. The issue is that people confuse unethical practitioners with unethical industries which are not the same.

And with the economic forecast for the immediate future not looking like it will become brighter in the near future, individuals have to, like we pointed out at the start, become creative about their career choices. And the Internet makes the job doubly easier. There is no reason for prospective MLM professionals to not do their research, ask the right questions from their ‘up line’ sources and not be enthused by the opportunities that are on offer.

A better future, stability and income generation are basic rights of all people, no matter where they are or what they do. And MLM definitely provides for that.

How to Know the Best Network Marketing Company

Without any doubt if you are an advocate of financial freedom or a person open to new business opportunities, chances are you have heard about multi-level marketing (MLM), direct selling, or network marketing business opportunity and your problem is to know the best network marketing company to join as there’re varieties to choose from.

You may probably have an image firmly planted in your mind of what network marketing is, based on the seemingly endless debate over whether these companies and programs are legitimate business opportunities or not. You may have been in the industry for some time, shifting from one company to the other searching for the best company to join.

This article will give you the real scoop about network marketing and how to know the best company to join in MLM. I strongly believe that the entire industry is poised for explosive growth and can be one of the most significant solutions to any country’s youth unemployment crisis. The biggest problem in the industry is amateur networkers coming into the industry without proper training about network marketing and the leaders in the industry are not doing much to train the upcoming and aspiring network marketers.

Those who are in the industry are not willing to invest in their education to know the right way to do the business, that is why “The beauty of MLM is the low cost of entry and the bad thing in MLM, is also the low cost of entry. People fail to invest in their education once they join any MLM company and expect to be successful in the industry and once they are not getting the result they anticipated thy move to another company because the money they spent in joining the previous company is something they can forget without a fight.

If they spend a fortune to start it, they will do everything possible to make it work; they will invest in their education, give their time because the money involves cannot go down without them looking for ways to recover it. But in network marketing they expect more from the little investment and if they don’t see that in few weeks they will start screaming SCAM. One thing network marketing does is to expose you to your weaknesses and require you to address them through education or you quit. Many leave the company once that weaknesses showed up and label that company fake.

In every company business presentation the presenter will say they are the best and their distributors will go out to say the same to their prospects. I will not blame them for that as any company that puts money in your pocket is the best company to you. To be successful in any network marketing company require a renewal of your mind, you must have a positive mental attitude towards network marketing.

I cannot list a number of Good network marketing companies, below are some of the factors that make up a good network marketing company and it will help you choose wisely.

Check The Registration and Ranking Status: In the Network Marketing and Direct Sales industry there is an organization called the Direct Selling Association (DSA) http://www.DSA.org. There are thousands of Network Marketing Companies in the world, only about 200 or a few more of them are registered with DSA. The reason is because every member company must abide by high strict business ethics given by the organization which include on how they deal with their distributors. It does not mean that any other company that is not registered with them is not legit, but you will be on the safe side working with a company registered with them because they belong to a regulatory body that check-mate their excesses. For ranking check mlmrankings.com and businessforhome.org search on the company to know if they have been featured or rank on these sites. Check an honest review of the company through Goggle and YouTube to know what distributors and online network marketing coaches and writers have been saying about the company. I know there are companies out there with good intentions that are not registered with DSA, so explore every other means below to make your choice.

How old is the company in business?

You may hear terms like “ground floor company” or “start-up opportunity”. This entirely means the company is brand new. Statistics show that high percentage of new companies fail within their first five years because they are still in their formation stage. Every company started new and those that play the gamble of joining at the formation 5 years are the one reaping most of the dividend today therefore If you are OK with joining a new company in hopes that it will still be around after five years and you are one of the few that “got in early” then this should not be a problem for you.

Check the Integrity of the Management Team. If the company is relatively new and you want to go ahead with it, check the integrity of the management team, the experience of the CEO and the team in Network Marketing Industry, their backgrounds and reputations. How many years’ experience they have in the industry and have they been successful in other companies in the network marketing industry. Their experience will help them shape the company to last a very long time than a money bag that just want to take advantage of the industry to amass wealth.

If you can, talk to people that are currently involved with the company. Ask the person that is presenting the business opportunity to you if they can introduce you to other members, preferably members not in their team and listen to their stories about their real life experience with the company.

Check Their Products or Services: This is a business, and just like if you were running a franchise or a storefront you must take a franchise of a product you know you can sell easily. Find out the features and benefits of their products to see if it will meet the need of the people you want to introduce into the business and those that will be your customers, will they use it and need more of the products?

Examine the Compensation Plan. Compensation plans come in all shapes and sizes. Some are extremely complex to understand and others are very simple. You must know how fair and generous the overall distribution is. This is really important as the pay plan represents exactly how you’ll get paid–or not get paid. If you don’t understand the pay plan how are you supposed to know how much effort will be required for a certain level of pay?

Sincerely Compensation explanation is complex subjects that cannot be explain fully in this article, even when you are explaining a simple compensation plan, but you must know the basis before starting your own network marketing business.

There are five types of compensation plans used in Network Marketing industry, with many variations of each. There is probably no one plan that is perfect or right for everyone at every time. What may be the best plan for you today could change due to regulations, your experience in the industry and/or the type of product, even new technology. And, it’s those variations that can make the difference.

Let’s take a look at the 5 different types of plans in their most basis forms, they are…

  1. Stair Step Break A Way {Board Breaking etc)
  2. Uni-Level
  3. Matrix
  4. Australian
  5. Binary

Most new aspiring network marketing business owners always ask, which of these network marketing compensation plans is best. There is no one sentence that fits the answer to this question. It depends a lot on your personality and what you want to achieve from your network marketing business. The thing to remember is that, apart from retail profit where applicable, a network marketing compensation plan pays you for a combination of product sales and sales management. So if you are more of a traditional salesperson who can move tons of products, it may be advisable to go with the company that pays more for product sales than for managing sales teams. If you really want to make it big in network marketing, study the compensation plan of any company before signing up.

Online Marketing: Make sure the company policy allows you to utilize the internet as a marketing tool and they must have system in place that will help you do that, such as your replicated website, online payment system, online product delivery system etc. People are utilizing the internet as their main marketing tool because of the automation on the internet that has allowed a much more consistent method of following up.

The only reason why some companies don’t accept online marketing is due to people who utilize it to spam and that can give a very bad reputation not only to the distributor, but also to the company you’re working with.

In conclusion, the best company in network marketing is the one that has a realistic pay plan, which is a compensation plan where the incentives given to members are achievable by the company through their product and services. You must also take notice of some of the points listed above to make your choices.

Network Marketing System – What You Need For Success

The Successful Network Marketing System… Have You Found It?

The Network Marketing System, or “System”, as we like to call them in the network marketing profession have become the cornerstone to real network marketing success.

It’s true; every leader is always pitching their “network marketing system” as the perfect one. The one that is finally going to help you create the online success you have been dying to achieve. As a network marketer, you know how valuable finding the proper one is. But what do you look for while seeking the one that is best for you?

There are so many options out there to choose from, so, what’s the best one? That’s a really good question… The best answer I can come up with is that one network marketing system will work best for one particular company and may not be so great for another.

The fact is we live in a very diverse world. There is no one network marketing system that is perfect for any company. Eventually, it will be discovered that something is simply missing for the needs of a particular company where it meets all the needs and expectations of another. There is a lot of grey area in-between.

So let’s check out three important factors in what to look for in…

The Successful Network Marketing System.

The first one we’ll touch on is..

1. EASE OF USE – does it play nice?

Let’s face it, we all want things that make our lives easier. If we get bogged down with complexity, we’re bound to lose interest fast. Also, it’s very important that as we bring other network marketers into our organization and want to give them the proper tools for success, they will need something that has a short learning curve and most importantly, is easily duplicated.

A formula of successful duplication is key to any successful network marketing system. Without it, a new user is going to grow frustrated quickly. If they don’t simply give up and quit, they will start to do things outside of the proven success formula that will soon lead them to certain failure. They will lose valuable money, time and possibly respect for you if you are the one who got them involved with such a complicated system. Eventually, they will likely quit, and you will be at risk of becoming part of their new story about their experience in network marketing, and why it doesn’t work. Network marketing systems that have “Ease of use”, are integral to your success, your team’s success and ultimately, the success of your business.

While working in corporate America, I used a very well known “system” that my employer provided. The system had to be heavily manipulated in order to get the result I was looking for and to stay on focus with the company identity. It was a generic system that could literally be dispatched in any field of business because it was generic. It was simply a system, for the sake of having a system.

The creator of the system boasted of its versatility, and it really is when properly pre-setup. But leaving it up to each user to manipulate the system simply caused frustration. It was mandatory to use this system yet many employees would eventually decide to risk reprimand for not using it rather than trying to make nice with it anymore.

The next successful network marketing system factor is…

2. FOCUS – will it be consistent in branding – you?

This really comes down to the internal tools that the network marketing system employs and makes fully available to you, the end user. Is it directly focused on what your business is or is it generic? Will it assist you in specifically targeting the niches you are going after? Since we rarely have complete control over the system our company provides, does the system support your exact marketing focus? In other words, if you are selling product #1, does it provide support (i.e. pre-made templates, campaigns, etc.) specifically for product #1 or is it vague in its focus? And if your business has several products, will it do the same for each product consistently? Does it create and provide consistency with your growing brand?

And the third successful network marketing system factor is…

3. PRICE – will it drain your wallet before you can use it?

Does paying more for something necessarily mean that it’s going to be better? Let’s say you want to remodel your kitchen. You should always get at minimum, 3 estimates and always ask for references of each contractor. Often times, the higher priced contractor will be reluctant to give you their references yet they are the one to put on the most pressure to get you sign on the dotted line today to have them do the work. Why is this? Because quite often, they know that they have over promised and under delivered their customers. They have zero confident in the kind of recommendation their past customer may give.

All too often people think the phrase; “You Get What You Pay For” is gospel. So they go with the higher priced contractor thinking they are going to get the best work done, when the contractor who charged in the middle has created such a loyal and devoted customer base because of his superb craftsmanship, he realizes charging more, doesn’t always equate to more money. Having multiple referrals and repeat customers who really do the selling for him does. He knows exactly what his customers are saying about him and he happily gives you as many references as you would like.

Will you get huge value out of your brand new network marketing system at its basic level? Or will you need to upgrade in order for it to start assisting you to produce the desired results? This is a common problem found with many network marketing systems out there as well.

Often heard:

“Join our business for as little as $__.__ and use our high tech, industry leading network marketing system to catapult your business into success you’ve never thought possible!”

Within minutes of processing your payment you’re being told that in order to get the maximum results from the network marketing system you just bought, you will need to upgrade! Or you’re being pitched on four other money making opportunities to join which in turn, breaks the basic fundamentals of factor #1!

FACT: Your new network marketing system should be ready made to get you going and start being profitable quickly, at any level of entry. The only reason to upgrade would be to put you in a position to PROFIT EVEN MORE! It should be there as a tool to success and not a distraction from it. It needs to be simple yet full featured and allows you to focus on becoming profitable, NOT trying to figure out how to use it. You control it, not the other way around. The best network marketing system is the system that will be working for you even… when you’re not working!

If there was such a network marketing system that was very easy to use, maintained focus and consistently branded you, had a very low acquisition cost and could get you making money quickly? That would be one powerful network marketing system!

If you actually owned this system and other people wanted access to it so that they could experience the same benefits? But the only way they could, was to get it directly from you? Even if they didn’t join your network marketing opportunity, they could still get the system from you and you would still make money without them joining? Now that would be an extremely powerful network marketing system!
